Hugh D. Dotson passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Dunham, KY and moved to Anderson, IN with his parents, Dewey Franklin and Betty Dotson, along with brothers, Jerry and Joe. He graduated from Anderson High School and Ball State University with a B.A. Degree in Business Administration. He entered the military as a Reservist with the 316th Chemical Group of Anderson and was honorably discharged in 1963. He began his career with Firestone Industrial Products of Noblesville as a sales trainee and later as a salesman for the State of Indiana. He resigned that position in 1965 to join the Hysol Corp., based in Olean, NY and City of Industry in California. He was a member and past president of the University club of Anderson. He was also a member of Society of Automotive Engineers and a board member of the EEIC (Electrical and Electronic Conference).
In 1973, Hysol was sold to the Dexter Corp. of Windsor Locks CT. Hugh served as District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager and later, National Sales Manager. In 1986, he resigned his position to start the H.D. Dotson Sales Co., Inc. A company he remained President of until his untimely death.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, his one time love and high school sweetheart, married for 54 years; his two daughters, Lori Desautels and Lisa Hall, both of Indianapolis; his two loving sons-in-law, Michael Desautels and Richard Hall, as well as six loving grandchildren, Paige Hall, Sam Hall Spencer Hall, all of Indianapolis and Andrew, Sarah, and Regan Desautels, all of Indianapolis.
